Another friend with a newer L275 (maybe it's a 285??) has a shuttle on the left side of the steering wheel, clutch down-shift to reverse. That may be a early 90's model.
The one I was speaking of (80's) does not have a shuttle, and seems to be a smaller frame size. I will check if the PTO has three or four speeds. It seems to have four in an H pattern. Could the PTO have a reverse? I'll get a pic of the shift levers. Thanks all. Jim

I think the reverser may bave been an option that came late in the model run. Most L275's are 8F 2R. The Official Tractor Blue Book™ - Kubota - L275 DT 4WD Configurations
Tractordata lists one configuration, Tractor Blue Book lists another.

My 275 is at the farm. It is early 80's and has 3 pto speeds 540,750, &1000. Keep it at 540 and you will not hear the whistle mounted on the rubber radiator overflow hose. I can tell when it is running hot-by the smell of antifreeze, then the whistle. high and low range effects only the trans. Mower will be fine mine is a 5ft. that came new with a 8n ford.
