Okay, one more box blade question?

Cripes, it is a 60 inch wide model made by an off brand like rankin. It is in the less than 500 lb category with 3/8" sideplates and 5 rippers. I have really considered adding weight to it for certain activities like smoothing gravel or grading down high spots in site work. The box blade is a fine anchor in wet muck where the material you are trying to skim is sticky and the tires have a hard time getting much traction.

There are times when traction is bad and nothing but a bulldozer would pull even a light box blade.

I live in Oklahoma, home of high winds and red dirt, so I won't run in to too much sticky stuff, but I am nervous about the weight of the Gannon BB, even though it is rated for a tractor of my horsepower. Thanks for your input.

I was able to hang them off of the 3x3 steel angles that run from the the 4" front tube (where the teeth are) to the 2x2 rear tube above the blade.
I bought them off ebay for $30 ea. I bought the last 5 that the seller had.
I have seen vertical rods welded to the rear tube of a box blade so that circular plate weights could be added.
If you'll keep your eyeballs peeled, you can buy them cheap at an estate sale or auction.
I bought (2) 80# tractor weights at a sale a month ago for $5.
They aren't exactly suitcase weights and I haven't quite figured out how to attach them, but hey, for $5 ! I'll figure something out.

Thanks for the reply, I will look for other ways to mount some weights and add some more grab to the box blade, I thought 593 would be plenty of weight, but it skipped across a lot of the driveway, I think I had the scarfiers down to deep also... maybe the blade would dig in more without them...
