Yes i can kill mine by shutting air off
ican unplig stop solonoid and keeps running i ca even leave sear still runs

You can stop most diesels pretty easy by closing off the air intake at idle. No fuel, or no air, and she should shut off. Remember the at idle part.... don't want you to loose body parts trying to stop a big hp diesel running wide open...

when i was a kid i worked for a welding repair shop part time the owner would always stop a run away diesel by taking a rag and holding it over the intake to choke the engine off, well he did until he had one really running full blast and it sucked 10 or 12 rags into the intake before choking down. after that he made a stopper that would not get sucked in.
