How many hours on your machine? Also are you losing or leaking any oil? Synetics are well known for their cleaning abilities. Been using Mobil 1 5w50 since 50hrs. Would definitely check out Bob the Oil Guy website, plenty of serious oil experts there.

Is it diesel rated?
Approaching 30 hrs, and I use Mobile 1 in my Explorer and plan on changing it to Castrol Edge as well. No sign of tractor leaks, but when I checked my hydraulic oil in the housing below the seat it, I could see no fluids so I filled it up. I thought I would change the engine oil shortly for it's first change and that brought up the type of oil question. When checking the Castrol Edge web page on the internet, some places note a yes on Diesel, and some ignore the question. Thus my confusion.

Curious about your switching away from Mobile 1, ya mad at em or just too high priced? GRIN..
Not mad, just believe the advertisement that Castrol Edge is 10 times better protection. If not true Mobil would have sued the pants off them

No use something else, Edge is not a diesel rated oil i wont handle the soot and oil contamination produced by a diesel engine,stick with a diesel rated oil,CI-4 or CJ-4 spec oil.
