Oil pan removal on 2012 max28xl

Trying to help a friend. Says he needs to drop the oil pan but front driveshaft is in the way. He says "it looks like it's in a tube" and he doesn't understand how to drop it.
Any information is apprecaited. Does anyone have a service manual they can pass me?

Did that on my 3016. exact same engine. if i remember right you loosen the clamps on the rubber boot on the front axle then slide it back. should expose the u joints. There is a snap ring or C clip that you remove which then lets you slide the shaft off the stub.
but from the online parts it might be as simple as removing a C ring and slide the collar back then you should be able to remove the whole shaft. might be 2 bolts holding a stabilizer tube...

Thanks for your reply. Here's what my friend wrote when I sent him your infiormation: "Sadly that does not describe my situation my shaft has no rubber boots I'll have to go underneath and have another look at it. I so no boots no snap rings do anything just a tube thanks for the help"
