Oil & Fuel oil pan drain plug size

Trying to find the right drain plug bolt for 1710 Ford Tractor. M12-?, M14-1.50??. Doesn't appear stripped so probanbly don't need oversize.

Parts catalog says M12x1.25. Probably about $4 at a New Holland dealer.

Does it have the sealing washer on it? There should be a special washer with a rubber insert. Will be dry as a bone if you put a new washer on it.

DON'T over tighten it, it will destroy the rubber seal and it will leak again.

Might just find a copper washer that fits the plug from Hardware store, most carry some. Mine never leaked without a washer and I just have it guttentight and not a skosh more.:laughing:

Thanx to all. New one from o'reilly's came with a nylon washer. will keep an eye on it.
