Looking for suggestions on oil filter removal. Gone through 5 oil wrenches on my Ck3510hse trying to remove the motor oil filter. Probably try a good strap wrench next. Anyone know what size cap wrench fits the filter, 93mms x 15 tooth is too loose.

Screw driver time.

Have a CK3510SE I used one of the “cap style” ones that go on the end of the filter and you pop onto a ratchet and used one with an extended handle. Came off no prob.

Away from my tractor right now but if a good strap wrench doesn't work I will try the screw driver method. it will have to wait to after there is no snow in case something goes wrong.
The cap wrench I bought just slips. It's kinda like it's a weird size.

Had the same problem with my 3510SE when I changed the oil, have collected 4 different filter wrenches over the years, none would budge it, plus I started to round the edges at the end. Only had to use a screw driver once on one of my first cars and didn't want to go that route. Ended up spraying it with a penetrating fluid, then used a wrench that is like tripod, when you attach your socket wrench it tightens around the filter. With 2 turns I had the filter off in like 30 seconds. My dealer suggested that maybe when they install the filter on the line they don't take the time to coat the gasket with oil. Might make sense because it was really tough to remove. The transmission and HST filters were easy compared to the oil filter. It should be easier next time with the gasket oil coated and not torqued on.

I'm beginning to think they used super glue to lubricate it. It seems to be the same on all kiotis.

For over tightened filters my trick is a short length of old seat belt and vice grips.
Wrap the belt and clamp the vice grips in such a way that when you lever pry the belt simply tightens.

Otherwise simply stab the filter with screw driver and lever away. Messy but it works.

Cut a piece of old inner tube to fit around the inside of the cap wrench. This helps to keep it from slipping on
the filter. Of course if the other wrenches did not work, a strap wrench or screwdriver is probably your answer
as others have said.

first oil change on the new engine in my 2010 truck a few months ago I crushed it with a strap wrench and pull handle. only option was a long screw driver and then I tore it to pieces getting it off .

I have had that experience too.

Used the long screw driver method once. Will never try it again. I had good luck with a chain wrench. The trick is to wrap it around the filter as close to the base (threaded end of the oil filter) as possible to prevent the can from collapsing. Although that is not always possible do to the location of the filter and surrounding engine components.

.... or I've used a new latex glove to take the slip out of that cap wrench.

Get a Vise Grip chain wrench!
$25.95 on Amazon.
Or get the Tekton brand for $16.99.
The Vise Grip brand is lifetime quality, the Tekton is decent.
You will use the tool for other issues in the future.

Big pipe wrench works wonders on a oil filter if you have room for it.

You need leverage, the longer the handle tool the better.

I bought a new mower, I could not believe how tight they installed that oil filter. I tried about everything I had and the only thing that worked was a 60 year old heavy 28 inch pipe wrench..
