Oil Consumption BX2200

For those of you with a BX2200, what kind of oil consumption rate are you seeing? It doesn't have to be scientific, just a rough figure from the dipstick is fine.

I have 80 hours on my 2200 and the only oil I have added was at the 50 hour change. I am now running Amsoil.....

No problems here!

I have roughly 138 hours on mine and have never noticed any oil consumption, like Sandy C The only time I have ever put oil in it is when i change oil.

Same here, I use no oil in my BX, at least the level does not change on the dipstick. Of course, I change the oil and filter very 50 hours.

My BX2200 has about 140 hours. I see about 1/4 qt consumption in about 30 hours.

I have about 220 hours on my BX22 and have never had to top off the oil and I check reguarly. I have added a little UDT a couple of times. I have changed oil and filter 3 time and switched to Mobile 1 the last time.

Never had to add oil. I did change it at about 50, 125 and 200. The one at about 200 was because I switched to Mobile 1 for the winter to help it start on colder days.

I have had to top up UDT a couple of times. I had to replace the filter and UDT at about 10 hours because my PTO shaft on the MMM came off and punched a hole in the filter. Now the mower goes on in the spring and stays on all summer/fall.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm just trying to figure out if mine is inline with what others are seeing, and it appears to be. I too changed the oil at 35, 70 and 100 hours. At the 100 hour change I went to Mobil 1. Haven't added any UDT yet, but it was changed at 35 hours too.

No oil usage with my BX2200. I have about 100 hours and it doesn't use a drop of oil. I checked it this evening and it right at the full line. 49 hours since the last change (it's due).

Just a little over 300 hours here on my 2200, and the engine uses no oil either. I've run Amsoil since the 50.
