I think k0ua is a special case because I believe he mostly does loader work.

I guess you can fit me in that group also. That is the main reason I have my tractor. CJ

I am a case allright:laughing::laughing:.. I got the dealers last offer this evening, I am still trying to decide what to do.. I am not thrilled by the offer, but I am still deciding. I haven't actually drove the tractor, and would probably have to wait until saturday.. Yes I mostly do loader work, and a little mowing in summer and fall. The loader capacity is calling to me,, the payment is not thrilling me a lot, and the wife is not thrilled at all..

Are you dealing with S&H? I think they have a dealership in Springfield. I know they are pushing the Kioti. They have a bunch of them lined up at the dealership here in Joplin. Shouldn't have came to this thread as I am getting that burning feeling in my gut as well. Glad I'm only looking at little tractors. I'm still stuck on that red stuff. My little Massey still runs great but I really like that MF1526. Just not a lot of them here yet. I spotted one but it is 150 miles from here. Good luck on your deal. You getting much rain there? We have had four inches so far and it's still coming down.

Yes S & H George. Yes the rain continues about 3 inches so far.
I had a nice chat with the Cheif Financial Officer and she asked me to justify why we NEED to go deeper in debt, and I could not do it. She also pointed out we could just leave some of the larger rocks in the woods that cannot be handled with the present tractor and just build with the ones we can. Man it is hard to argue with logic. Then there is the new shelter that would be needed and on and on. I guess I am going to tell them that I am going to pass on the new tractor. I am a little sad I am not going to get the new tractor, but I can't really justify it even in my own mind, it is more of a want not a need. I sure is a darn nice tractor though. One thought is I could put some money in the present tractor to add some hydraulics maybe for a grapple later. Sorry guys, but it was just a "bridge too far":(

Sounds like good sense to me. If you're like me, it's a relief just to come to a conclusion, even if that means no new tractor for now. You still have a sweet machine!

No harm in trying and the fact that you "submitted" to her logic will earn you some points. Also, now she is aware of the issue and may change her mind when circumstances change.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

S &H is suppose to be a Massey dealer but they don't carry anything. I can get my parts there though which makes it nice. If the rain lets up by tomorrow morning I might take a trip to Morrison, OK. The dealership there has lots of Massey's. I really want to look at that 1526.

Well your wife is probably right. If you have lots of debt it is hard to take on a new payment. Time will come when you can get one. I'm old enough, and have learned from hard knocks that it isn't wise to keep going in the hole deeper and deeper. I hate to give it to the banks anyway.

Don't float away as it looks like we are in for a bunch more tonight!

James,

I'm late to the party (Sorry) and I got excited and jumped to the last page so I'm sure I missed something here...

That said here is what I would propose... Place an ad for you tractor somewhere you like (CL, tractor house, etc.) at the price you really want to get for it and see if it generates interest. The deal at the Kioti dealer is likely to last for a while. I would hope the difference in selling outright vs. trade-in might make enough of a difference to sway the CFO...

It would be awesome to welcome YOU to the Pack...

Regardless, we all still like you no matter what shade of orange (or other color) you use!

Be well,
David

If the price is close you might try another dealer. I hear the dealer in Vinita, OK is very fair on price and easy to deal with, plus I think they have been with Kioti longer than anyone in the fourstate area. It's worth a try....it might be enough to sway the financial advisor. Besides if the local dealer is close on price, you know your getting a square deal.

I could do that, but it is more than just the trade price which was not where I wanted it, When I added up the weight of the tractor and the loaded tires, there is the little matter of probably exceeding the safe loading on my Derkson buildings floor where the present tractor is stored.. Also the size, while it would fit, the lawn mower would need to go somewhere else. So we were thinking of putting the tractor in another shed, about $3000 and leaving the lawn mower where it is. So that is another 3000 out of pocket, plus the down payment of $1650 Plus the extra payment plus losing almost 2 years of what we have payed on the L3400 in taking on 5 year debt, instead 3 year debt that is left on the Kubota, plus the insurance which is already figured in to the kubota, but will be extra for the Kioti. So even if I get that extra 1000 I wanted in trade difference, I still am looking at being out several thousand bucks do to my storage situation. If I already had a nice barn like where I used to live for storage that would not have been an issue. None of these things are the dealers fault, and I guess he did the best he could. The base price was 1000 over what everyone else on here says they are paying, but the dealer claims a recent price increase when I pointed that out to him.. I don't Know. So that is why I did not "join the pack" though I wanted to.:(

We all still love ya James no matter what. Your logic is solid and YOU must live with your decisions, not us.

Be well my brother.
