Koua...this won't help you much, but I traded up from a Ck30 to the DK40SE Hydro. My main reason was lift capacity and I have to say it was a good trade for me. I use the snot out of my Dk and the FEL is almost always in use. Besides building a log home, I have a sawmill, and the DK loads all the logs, then I off bear onto the forks so can take the finished lumber where it needs to go. I'm at 700 hrs and just haying this summer will add another couple hundred cutting, raking and stacking 300 4x4 bales.

If you are at his point, I think the up-grade is the only way your ever gonna get some sleep:D

This is absolutly true, my point was that the DK40 is much more of a machine and that the implements that he has been using are not really up to snuff for the Kioti and that somewhere down the line different size-duty implements should be obtained.

You are right though, a person can "get by" with implements intended for waaaaaaay less of a machine than they are being used on, you just need to grow a pair of eyes in the back of your head, and you can't use the tractor up to it's potential. Then I would start 2nd guessing about why even bother getting a bigger machine at all.

But then again this is just me and I know that A LOT of guys get by with what they have. ;)

I think k0ua is a special case because I believe he mostly does loader work.

I stopped by my Massey dealer to pick up a part last week and looked at a some new tractors. I'd be afraid to use something that nice!!! And $24,000 for a new 1532 with just a FEL when I paid $14,500 for a 2006 1533 with a FEL with 425 hours that included an 18' Hooper dual axle trailer, a 6' box scrape, 6' brush hog, 6' finishing mower, and an auger with two bits??? I'll keep the extra $10,00 cash and the implements...

I am a case allright:laughing::laughing:.. I got the dealers last offer this evening, I am still trying to decide what to do.. I am not thrilled by the offer, but I am still deciding. I haven't actually drove the tractor, and would probably have to wait until saturday.. Yes I mostly do loader work, and a little mowing in summer and fall. The loader capacity is calling to me,, the payment is not thrilling me a lot, and the wife is not thrilled at all..

Your 1800lb capacity loader forks might not be the best thing to have on a loader with 2600lb lift capacity. Not trying to say anything negative, just that it is what it is and when you increase capacities on one thing, you should consider increasing everything else that goes along with that initial up grade. ;)

Has any wife, ever, been thrilled when her tractor geek hubby proposes an upgrade? Just askin'.

If this is the kind of work you do then this is the tractor and grapple you want/need:

Yeah I thought of that,, that DK40, might just wad em up like a pretzel if I get carried away.. I have tested them with the L3400HST and no problem it goes into relief before the forks look stressed. I have picked up some big rocks with them, but you know how you always want to pick up a bigger one?

About the only thing I did not like about that tractor was the fact it did not follow me home.

:laughing::laughing: That happens to me a lot! With many different makes and models!!!:laughing::laughing:

Forks are for pallets and you know or can easily calculate pretty much how much those weigh. Grapples are for other stuff and even a light duty grapple can handle anything a 2700lb lift loader can dish out.

You might go test drive it anyway. If he sees that you're serious, he might give a little more on his price. Or you might decide you don't like it after all. Even if you like it but pass on the price, you always seem fond of your L3400 when you talk about, so there's that much still!
