Yeah I drove a DK35seCAB and it was plush inside, Kinda weird as I had never driven a cab tractor before and a lot of that diesel "cackle" was attenuated, I actually turned on the AC for a minute, and the thing was starting to really "grow" on me, but there was just no way financially.:(

You're still young, I finally had to give up my last open station tractor this year. I use to run both cab and open station, but father time and health issues finally put an end to that and my Harley this year.

Thankfully when I bought my L5030 a couple of years ago my wife convinced me to get a cab.

I better get off the Kioti Forum before I get in trouble; enjoy your tractor.

I don't know why any of you Kubota guys are surprised,( not saying anyone in this thread) heck the way that some of you talk would lend a person to believe that you could trade in a 10 year old Kubota on any off brand tractor and drive away with a new off brand tractor and a pocket full of cash.

not quite if the deal is as I am thinking.

He said he owes 3 more years on the bota.

IF the new loan is $25 MORE....AND for 5 years, the total cost difference is $25/month for 3 years, PLUS the FULL payment for the last two years.

A lot of assuming here on my part but I am guessing he had a 60 month loan probabally in the

~$300 range??? SO...he owed 3 more years @ 300 = $10,800 till payoff.

IF the new loan is $25 more ($325) for 5 years...Thats $19,500 till payoff. About a 9k difference.

BUT...IF the new loan is only for the 3 years, that would be $25 x 36 = $900 more.

Big difference. Not sure what the deal was he got. Again, just guessing here but I think most likey he is back to a 5 year loan. Becasue with 3 years left to pay on his bota, I doubt he got much more than payoff for trading it in. So little of that would apply to the purchase of the new DK. And for basically getting a new tractor with little down and a payment only $25 more/month, I am betting it was a 5 year loan.

If he was down to only owing ~10k or so on his bota, and got a brand new DK35 for only $600 more TOTAL, I think I would be considering a drive to missouri with my L3400 in tow:D

Pretty funny:laughing:. I can just see a line of L3400 owners driving over to get their Kioti! well neither analysys is correct, I was paying $202 and will be paying 226 or therebouts (will be some loan fees). BUT I have lost about I guess 19 or 20 months of payment at $202 per month as I now will have a 60 month loan again.. Lets see I had about 7200 in equity to put against the new tractor and put some cash down also.. and owed about 7300 still on the bota. It gets kinda hard to figure how much money is "lost" from trading tractors, but how much do we "gain" in joy or more utility? hard to say, as a lot of older less capable tractors would probably do what I "need" to do, but would I enjoy them as much?

It's not nice to go around popping other peoples balloons!:D

I'm sure it was the same story ten or fifteen years ago with green v orange.

I almost 100% agree with you, I would say 15-20 years ago though.

It is almost sad :( that so many people just do not want to believe that there are companies all around the world that make GOOD products. ;)

Sounds like you put a good bit down when you got the kubota to have had a $202/month 60-month loan:D

But using your rough numbers....saying you "lost 19-20 months", I am assuming you owed another 40 months on the bota.

So....40 months @ $202 = $8080 till 'bota payoff.

You are now @ 60 months of $226 = $13,560 til payoff

Differrence of $5,480 tor the "trade-up" PLUS whatever you put down on the DK.

Still not bad to have a machine you are happy with. Darn crap hitch on the bota. But either way, my girl is paid off and probabally not going anywhere soon:thumbsup:

Just curious though, did you see how much a trade-up to a GL would have been. Like a 3540???? Probabally would have been a little more than the DK, but at least you would have been the "right" shade of orange:laughing:
