Has anyone seen the Northern Hydraulic compact diesel tractor. It is lableled Nor track. 20 hp, 4wd, ps, ag tires 540 and 1000 rpm pto. For 5999 $US. Wonder who makes this.

I asked them. They are made in China. Personally speaking, you need local dealer support for a tractor and you won't get it with on of these. Resale value...forget it! Good money spent on a good tractor is an investment. One of these tractors is a loss no matter how you look at it. My $.02.

The Nortrak is made in China by the Yancheng tractor factory. They are sold as Jinma tractors. I've talked to the folks at Northern Hyd. and they tell me that they will pay any local (to you, within 35 mi. if possible) tractor repair facility for warranty work and they will ship any parts. I plan to get this in writing as I am seriously considering buying one. If a mechanic is familiar with small diesel tractors, he should be able to work on one of these. Parts are available from Northern Hyd. and any other Jinma importer. I've found 4 in the US and Jinma is also exported to the UK. Look up Jinma tractors on any search engine.

It may be a hollow promise as most dealers will not work on tractors that they are not properly trained to service. They have no manuals or tools and will simply and politely tell you that they are not qualified to work on them. Save your money and buy one of the supported tractor brands unless you want to do the work yourself.

I've found 2 tractor repair shops and a heavy equipment repair shop that say they would fix a NorTrac, Kubota, Kioti, or any brand compact tractor. I'm planning on taking a trip to Minnesota to pick one up. I'm interested in the 254, 25hp - 4wd, with a front loader. I've also found 3 other sources for parts.

Dave did you ever get the tractor? I went to Northern last weekend and took a look at one of them. I am also looking at getting the 25 HP with loader and post hole digger package. I would really be interested in talking to anyone else who owns one of these tractors.

Im thinking real hard about the 25hp 4wd - and using it for mowing, thats a great price for something 8n sized with 4wd and more power....

Could a Rhino be the same tractor? I have found this also to be made in China. Would like to know where to get parts on this one if something should fail.

Yes, they are. Nortrack, Rhino, and Nelly Belle are all the same tractor. All three have Web sites. They are also known as Jnma tractors. Use a search engine to find the Jnma web site, there you will find a link to the factory web site in The Peoples Republic of China. All have e mail addresses so someone should be able to give you some information.

Hey guys yea nortrack is chinese if you will go to the chinese troctor toses guys have a lot of infe on them there allso sold by homer tools as farmpro they are simple plan tractots but will get the job done on small farms not made to work 8 hours a day 6 days a week and for the price there ok

For what it's worth, I have owned a Jinma 204 w/ loader for 3 years. I've got a 5' box and a 4' brush mower and a 5' grader bar and an arena rake. Use it for the manure pile, snow removal, pasture trims and anything else I can think of. I just passed 400 hours. Knock on wood, it runs like a champ. I also know that if anything breaks, either I can fix it or a local tractor guy can. I also have a dealer close and is a terrific safety net. My son is a contractor and has a nice Bobcat. When I do use it the loader on it gets the job done 4 times as fast as the Jinma. But frankly, having an expensive (and expensive to repair) piece of equipment that would sit most of the time, is out of my price range. I paid less than 8k for this new w/ a loader. At this point, it doesn't owe me much and it's till running great!

I've got a jinma/nortrac tractor,,got about 570 hours on it,,a 254,,,has never failed to start,,never broke down,just got through tilling my 1/2 acre garden with it,,,,use a 5 ft tiller,,6 ft blade,,5 ft hog,,,plenty of power,,,,,they are just a jinma chinese tractor,,sold under various names,,farmpro is one,,,,,,8,000 will get you one,,free shipping or so the cataloge says,,,,,look for a local dealer though if you can find one,,go down to chinese tractors and ask same question,,,thingy

Nice review. It's nice to hear from youse guys with a few hours on your tractors. Thingy - you too but I've heard your story before.

I grew up in WI - My family is in the Maribel area S. of Green Bay.
