Pretty rare to see them in KY.

Wasn't expecting them to be as bright as they were here in GA, you could see them with the naked eye, but a long shutter setting made them very visible.

Apparently the Aurora Australis was just as spectacular last night.

Unfortunately it was all in Southern Tasmania as I was overcast receiving 14mm of rain.

I had to read this again. The first time I saw 14 cm.

Yes, I saw them this morning before dawn. The surprising thing was that they were not in the northern sky but instead straight up and even to the south a bit. I'm at about 43 degrees latitude.

No rain predicted here, but it is supposed to be overcast. Never seems to fail, anytime there's a celestial event (northern lights, meteor shower, etc.) it's cloudy. We did luck out with an absolutely beautiful day for the eclipse.

Missed them. It's a very cool view to just watch them dance. When we're living in AK, wife and I would just sit on the porch and just watch them.
