Normal Front Axle Temp

/ Normal Front Axle Temp #11
Differentials get hot when being used. The paint is often burned off the rear end of pickups which is why they are rusty in those salty areas.

I checked mine after about 8 hours of brush hogging in 2wd and felt no heat.

I noticed that lousy differential vent too. It runs up about six inches and then back down beside the axle to an open end. Those vents should run higher than any water you ever expect to cross and should be capped with an umbrealla type valve to prevent water or dirt entry. I'll have to add it to my list.
