oh great tractor gurus, i come seeking your knowledge...
i borrowed my neighbors Ford 540a over the weekend to do a little levelling. turns out i leveled his muffler with my clothesline. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif
that was bad enough, but when i returned the tractor i had a brain burp and left it sitting out under the oak tree where it always sits without covering the exhaust pipe./w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif
we ended up with about two inches of rain over the last two days and i'm sure that some of it has ended up in the combustion chambers.
i have heard before that you can do some major damage trying to start an engine with water in the combustion chambers since water doesn't compress very well. does anyone have any experience with this situation and what is the best resolution.
i plan on changing the oil since i'm sure some of the water has seaped past the rings. what else should i do prior to starting it again? remove the injectors and crank it to expel the water? any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.
best regards,
