I'm fairly new to the tractor repair side of things but I need some input. I have a 2017 JD 5045 2wd, recently the brakes started going to the floor after about two hours of use, the steering got choppy while bush hogging. I changed the hydraulic fluid as well as the hydraulic screen (which was covered in gunk) and the old fluid looked a lot like chocolate milk. I ran the tractor for approx thirty minutes this afternoon .....the steering is good, however the brakes go to the floor even before I cranked it, after cranking and running the bush hog I still have no brakes. No problem with the loader, it works great. Any advice is greatly appreciated..........................! Thanks

Candidly, I don't believe I've ever used the brakes on either of my Kubota's. I need to check and see if they even work.

If it were a car, I'd guess that the O rings in the master brake cylinder are shot. But I'm not familiar with the brake system on your tractor.
