Im buying a Kubota 2005 b3030 with cab only 90hrs on it.
Only problem previous owner never changed the oil, engine or transmission at 50 hrs.
First thing I have to do is change oil and the filters.
Price $21750.00 includes fel, cab, woods 7.5 backhoe, stereo Tractor is like new. Under warranty till Jan 2009
How bad do you think if any damage was done. Should I worry about it?
Thank you for any input.

No damage has been done. Tractors are tough, and just going over 40 hours on a service hasn't hurt a thing. Think about it this way, if you went over a couple of thousand miles on changing you oil in your car, you would say, "Oops, get it changed, and then go down the road without worrying again."

Seriously, the unit only has 90 hours, is still in warranty, and sounds like a good buy. Get the unit, do the service, enjoy the devil out of it for years, and don't give this another thought.

NO!

figure 50 hours is the rough equivalent of 2000 miles on a car, so 90 didn't hurt anything

consider it just barely broken in.

I did the 50 hr service (full service) on mine a few months back. I looked VERY closly at the engine oil ( factory 10W-30 crap) tranny fluid..etc...even looked down inside filters and such. The engine oil had a SLIGHT discoloration from brand new...the tranny fluid NO discoloration from brand new.

Unless this guy was flat abusing the rig...no harm was done.

SIDE NOTE: A close friend with a L5030..PER HIS DEALER did his 50 hr service at 105 hrs..??...and the 100 hr service at close to 250 hrs. PER THE DEALER he changed engine oil and filter and changed ONLY the tranny FILTERS and replaced the amount of fluid he lost in changing filters!!..???? ( This was each time he "serviced it")

Well thanks you two for replying. I guess your right and I do feel better, it's just that it is the first service with all the chips floating around.
I do think it's a good deal otherwise it's like new. I priced out the same setup Monday from the dealer and it was 32500.00 including tax. but with the newer woods curved backhoe. I think the only difference between new and this one is the seat.
The dealer didn't say one way or the other about the lack of service , just said it was a real important service and cringed up his face a little. That's what made me a little nervous.

I see you have a 3030 Sully2 how long have you had it and how do you like it.
It seems like a really nice tractor.

How picky is Kubota on warranty if one doesn't have proof of 50 hour service?
IOW if something big goes wrong can they deny warranty using that as an excuse, or rather will they?
Different companies act differently in this regard, some are very strict and use every opportunity to deny and others are more reasonable.
Just asking I really haven't heard how picky Kubota is.

so did the dealer do it before he sold it, or was he trying to get you to buy service on something you just bought?

No I bought it from a private seller , the dealer later said when i went back to buy oil and filters and I told him I bought it. He then said that he didn't think it would matter but he couldn't say for sure if any damage was done. he didn't think so. He later said that I got a good deal and saved 10,000.00 over new.
He did not seem fazed one bid if the service was done warranty wise.
I think allot of people do their own service.
i asked the parts guy if I should use 15w 40 oil in the engine.
He said i should use the 10w30.
Is that the best oil to use?
