So I have 2 acres. Help me with the math cause it still seems awful expensive.

I can buy 100lbs of alfalfa meal for about $11.00 a bag. A 100lb bag will do 10,000 square feet. I have 87000 square feet in 2 acres. Divide 87000 by 10,000 and you need 8.7 or 9 bags. 9 bags times $11.00 and its $99.00 per application. That is 3 times what I am paying for 300lbs of 26-3-10?? But in the long run will it be worth it? Help me here guys.
