I got this front hitch from A&K Adventures on eBay. He made it special but it should fit all BX models. It cost $39 plus shipping. It痴 great if you have implements on your 3-point hitch. Should also work with loader attached.

That is pretty neat. Does it come with the hitch too?

It looks good. I like how they shortened the receiver and hitch so it does not stick out so far. I really like the 2" ball receiver combined with a flat bar for towing a small lawn cart.

It looks nice, but how can you see to hook up ? With the grill guard gone, aren't you afraid to punch a hoe in the front with trailer tongue since you can't see ?

Nice idea but it leaves me wondering if it's a good idea to drop a trailer tongue onto your front end. I would avoid trailering anything with a significant tongue weight as this would be all over your front axle. I'm sure someone out there knows the front axle capacity of the BX series. Maybe I'm over-concerned but I'd like to hear some logical reassurance.

A FFL puts a lot of strain on the front axle, too. I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, I guess if you can put a 400 lb loader on it and another 400+ lbs in the bucket, it should carry a pretty heavy trailer tongue.

I keep the tongue low when hitching up. I've been lucky so far.

I think it will hold up. I use it mostly for moving trailers around.

I bet you could put the grill guard on and just use longer bolts to put the hitch on also!;)

Do you have to remove the FEL to use it, or can you raise the FEL and hook up the trailer?

They are very well made. I purchased one from them that was designed to bolt to the rear of a garden tractor about a year ago. I mounted it to the back of my 3pt hitch weight box. Since my weight box is almost always on the tractor I can also move my trailer around. A lot easier than welding one when you don't know how to weld . Being able to move pin hitch type items like lawn rollers, spreaders, etc. is nice to.

I agree. Not only that, but on the loader the weight is way out in front of the tractor for even more leverage on the front axle. I really doubt there are any consumer trailers whose tongue weight would overload that hitch or nice fat cast axle.

Really? My travel trailer/toy hauler and my dump trailer both have 1000 lb+ tongue weights.... I can't begin to even budge either one with the BX FEL, I sure wouldn't drop em on a front trailer hitch...but maybe thats just me:rolleyes:

1000+ lb tongue weight? Really? If so, holy cow!

If you can run 400 lbs in a 400 lb loader 4 feet in front of the tractor, I suspect that you're still in spec for the axle. I'm not saying it's a good idea. I'm just saying the axle should take it.

It may hold it just fine...but after reading of several broken front axles and what that costs, well I'm paranoid.;)

I just ordered one today...the manufacturer (Andy) of A&K Adventures is custom building me one over the weekend and he's gonna ship it out Monday.
Great deal on a great, functional tool for my BX24 (I have 4 trailers in the yard!):D:D:D
