Is there a best "easy" way to replace the clutch pedal return spring on a 2005 NH TC29DA tractor?

I don't know about the TC29; the spring broke on my JD 790. It was a simple process, just some parts to remove to get to it. Have you looked at your clutch pedal system to see how to access it?

I did see that post, however it is quite a bit different than mine. It is under the floor so I will attempt to try installing under from underneath. I hope to do it without tearing the whole pan etc. Thanks for the reply/

Just a general suggestion... Depending on access and how tight that spring is, consider attaching some heavy string or steel wire to the spring to pull it on.
I had to do that on a neighbor's mower deck some years ago to stretch a very tight idler pulley spring.

Thank you, very good suggestion as the spring does look very tight.

I suspect from reading the attached that you are going to need to separate the tractor. Hopefully others with more knowledge can confirm this.

Here is the page from my TC40DA repair manual. If your setup is similar, disconnecting the brake pedal rods may let you rotate the assembly to give you some slack on the spring #4.

Clutch pedal return springs under the L side of the footplate. Case/IH DX29 &/or NH TC29DA HST. (9 X 3 similar)

All fixed. NH part # 86530740 did the trick. I used braided picture frame wire and a brake pedal depressor tool used to check lights which ratchets. One end of the spring in the bottom of clutch pedal and the other end in the wire and ratchet it until it lines up with the hole in the bracket and just push it in. Took 2 minutes once I got set up. Thank you for the replys especially the wire one!
