First time tractor buyer here! I'm looking at NH and JD since they have local dealerships. I liked the NH 2310 quite a bit, but went to JD to see if they had anything comparable and was shocked to find that their price on a comparable tractor was less money. I always thought the green paint cost more. Anyway, I'm looking for a compact tractor for my horse farm. Mainly brush mowing the 30 or so acres of fields which are not level, but not steep, maintain my long gravel driveway, do some light loader work, and many other things I'm sure I haven't thought of yet!
Here are the prices that I was quoted: NH 2310 4WD gear drive with loader $23,900. This seemed high, so I called another dealer and got a quote of $22700, but they are 2 hours away. The local JD dealer quoted me $21200 for the 4005 with loader. However, they do not have one in stock, and the sales rep says that they don't really sell very many of that tractor.
So, what do you think? I'm open to all comments and suggestions. Thanks!
