Just signed up as I'm going to make an attempt to get the old Ford 3000 going again. I bought it back in 1974 From my Father-in-law and used it for years. It got a lot of abuse and rust and so a couple of years (five actually) I decided I'd tear it down (bodywise) and replace wiring harness, gages, fuel lines and do some body repairs and paint and clean it up. As luck would have it, right after I got it taken apart and tracked down a lot of parts, I was diagnosed with an aortic aneursym and had the open surgery. By the time I got over that I was pushing 70 and kinda wearing out. In the middle of all of this I was building a house which the wife said I'd finish before I died or worked on that dang tractor again.
Well, here I am, about to start on the tractor. Just wanted you folks to know that I'll probably be calling on y'all for some pointers. My first question, in case I forget to ask it when the time comes is, what needs to be done before starting a diesel back up after it's been sitting for 5 or 6 years?
