Newbie with Questions

Hi there, I recently bought a model 1772 diesel Cub Cadet. It runs great and cuts well, but I have some questions about it. I am basically looking for information on what implements and parts are available. My big question is about a rear PTO. I notice that there appears to be a smallish PTO shaft way up under the seat area which spins when the engine is running. Is this really a PTO? It seems to be way too far up in there to be used by a tiller or whatever, but what else could it be? If it is not, can you buy a PTO attachment to put on the rear like you can for a model 1782? Any and all info is useful to me at this point. Thanks
