63 Ford 4000 4 cyl diesel
I have a ford 4000 4 cyl diesel tractor( not sure about the year) that was running fine. I was mowing for 3 hrs and parked it for the night and it has never started again. It acts like it is not getting any fuel.
Any ideas?

Jerry...check your fuel filter...it well could be clogged...from what you say I guess it is turning over but just won't crank...Fuel filter is the first thing I would check...Others will have advice...stay tuned...Welcome...

Thanks for such a quick response, I have replaced the fuel filter, also I am getting fuel to the injector pump but none to the injectors. Is it possible the injector pump went out so easy? It does not have a stop cable, you just push the throttle lever all the way up to shut off.

Is it making any smoke as you crank it?

no smoke, the engine just turns over. I even tried a small amount of starting fluid and no results. I had a guy tell me there may be a throttle needle stuck in the injector pump, is that possible?

My old MF30 diesel backhoe used to require a squirt of starting fluid every time. Had to carry a can in the toolbox. Maybe try a squirt in the air cleaner, can't hurt.

Thanks guys for your input but nothing works. I pulled it around for a while and it did not even try. I tried more starting fluid and it does not even try to start. I has compression and is in time. I am out of ideas.

you say it has compression... yet does not even 'try' on start fluid.

I got news for you. if it does not pop on start fluid. it either has stuck intake valves , blocked air intake, or no compression ( too low of compression for heat of combustion to occur )
