Hey everybody,

Tomorrow I become the owner of a L4330, but the seller does not have the owners manual. I already ordered from my local dealer but they are telling me 2 weeks til I get it. I would like to be able to read over it as soon as possible. Any chance someone has a digital copy they can email to me? It would be greatly appreciated. My receipt shows it as part # TD060-19712.

This is my first tractor and I only have general tractor knowledge. Never even drove one, but I bought a new house and have a lot of land to maintain.

Thanks,
Justin

I tried them, but they only have it available for shipping. I looked all over the internet at multiple sites for a download version pay or free. I couldn't find anything. Thanks for the advice though. Anybody else have a suggestion.

No idea about where to get a manual, but if you have specific questions to at least get you up and running, I am sure some of use former and present L30 tractors can be of some help.

Service on the L30 and L40 are very similar, so you might want to look at this.

Thanks guys,

I guess my first question is:

The lever that is next to the HST gear/speed selection for L/M/H, is that a cruise control lever?

2nd question:

How do I operate the PTO, if I have the attachment hooked up that I want to use? Speed up the engine, and then turn the PTO on? Then just point and go?

Once I get it tomorrow and get a chance to look/run over things I will post some questions.

Yes, that is the cruise control. You can set your speed with the HST pedal and then move the lever to maintain that speed, or you can use it to go forward if you are using your turning brakes. Under normal situations the former is easier.

To engage the PTO, as it is an independent PTO, you can go either of two ways, but you will always want to engage at lower RPM, I engage mine at about 1200 to 1500. Also before disengaging the PTO drop your engine speed back down and let the cutter spool down.

1. Push the foot clutch down, move the PTO lever to the on position and then release the foot clutch to allow the cutter to spool up then open the throttle to PTO speed which on yours is 2440 RPM.

or

2. Slowly engage the PTO lever and let the cutter spool up then increase your engine speed to match the 540 PTO rate. (This is the method I use and is in my manual though others prefer the first.

Thank you for the reply. That Pto information will be very helpful tomorrow. I wasn't sure how to handle that, but the low rpm recommendation is what I needed.

You are quite welcome.

The manual recommends starting the tractor with the hand throttle about half way open rather than at full idle. I warm mine up at about 1500 RPM until I get a couple of bars on the heat gauge. You will need to fully depress the clutch to start even in neutral.
