Ford 9N
Hi,

I'm Rod Wagoner in Tucson, AZ. Even though I was born in NE, I'm fairly new to tractors. We have a difficult, uphill driveway about 250 yds long that the county had graded for the 1st 16 years that we've lived here. Suddenly, becaue of 'budget cuts' ... though my taxes seem to go up every year ... they've stopped grading it. Since it was never properly put in ... culverts, drainage manangement, etc ... it washes out during our summer 'monsoon' season and I have to maintain it.

I thought I had the answer by putting a 3-point hitch and Gannon box on the back of my 76 Powerwagon 3/4 ton PU but I also need that truck to haul material so continually connecting and disconnecting the hitch and blade doesn't make for a good soulution.

I've decided on a Ford N series as the best option and bought a 9N today. It's pretty original and has a hydaraulic blade on the front already. I still have to go get it. Has anyone hauled one on a UHaul Car Trailer before?

Looking forward to learning much more about ths tractor and what I can do to/with it.

Rod

The 9-N was made 1939-1942. weight=2140-3375 lbs., length=115 inches, width=64 inches, height=52 inches. Try this website TractorData.com - information on all makes and models of tractors The trailer would have to be capable of transporting the previous specs and info that I provided. There is a Vintage Tractor forum also here on TBN. Good Luck. :tractor::welcome:

yep.. don't mention tractor.. say it's a 39 ford.. :)

the front blade, if angle, may be a good bet already.. that and a box.

I would have sugested an 801 series.. but the N will do it.

Hi,
I live out in the 3 Points area. May be able to help you out if push comes to shove. Do have a trailer that will haul it. Send a PM if you like.

Jim it is good to read that you have offered to help Rod Wagoner with his drive way problem.
Now can use the road sheep foot roller. back hoe to help put in culverts to drain the seasonal floods across the road.
Welding expertise to build most anything buildable.
dust the lense of the camera this may be interesting.
Have a good week.

Hi Ken,
If he lives on the west side, don't mind helping him out. East side a little out of my range unless its a major job. I really don't like hauling other folks equipment.

I see he also needs tires (another post). Not going to run all over the place, picking up tractor, get it tires & deliver some where else.

Hauling a tractor on a car trailer is just asking for trouble. Bad Idea. Many years ago, Hauled an old Farm All from CA to Bowie on 1. It was a drive from he}} Tractor tried to drive the truck 400 miles.

Good morning Jim was kind of thinking a meeting over cup of coffee and discussing the use of your newly built sheeps foot type roller. for his no longer maintained road.
I wouldn't suggest doing the work. And he might be a builder of usefull things also.

I no longer haul with my trailers due to the DOT of this state seeking revenue to cover there future retirement needs.

Also after a discussion with insurance man. He told me only on the farm was tractor and equipment covered. farm has a county road now black-topped and continous traffic being it now is a short cut to Wal-mart. And when crossing the 32' space taken by the road no insurance. Same for the cattle it they get out and run over by some one it's my ticket to fix there car.
The little cars can run off the road thru the fence then drive off leaving a opening and my fault if one of the cows is hit by a vehicle.

Going to be a great day here how about yours.
