So I guess there must be a curve that is shaped like and upside down U.
I don't think it's so much a curve as it's more that you're trying to operate the tractor in the wrong range.
Low = operating range.
Hi= road gear and transport range;) .

I had it in low range. But I didn't know more pedal was less torque.

That was the way it was explained to me about more gas, less torque. I guess it doesn't shift internally the same as you're used to in a car.

It takes some getting used if you never had one before. I got about 30 hours on mine. It does have a few weak points, but as far as a tractor goes, it will get the job done. Just like with anything else, it just takes time to use properly.

There is a lot of useful information on this site, more than I ever thought possible. I've already learned not to screw up some things by reading what others have done. But I have still managed to hit a tree when cutting grass when the FEL was on. BTW, you're better off with all the attachments off when cutting grass. It is a lot easier, and not as bouncy. One good bounce can send you rolling.

megaboz.

================
I've never mowed with the FEL or BH removed.
I have a lot of large open areas to mow so leaving the BH and FEL attached is not a problem when mowing with the BX23.
For the tighter areas I can use the BX1500 with just a 48'' MMM on it or the CC GT2554 with the 54'' deck.
Hopefully the CC won/t be around much longer.
I don't find the BX23 bouncy unless you are going at a high rate of speed.

I second this.
It only took me one time to realize that when finish mowing w/my BX23 w/the FEL & BH mounted there were no positives and far too many negatives to ever do it again.

It only takes 10 - 15 minutes to reconfigure a BX TLB into a very good finish mower. As good a finish mower lawn tractor as any made.....
