If you look around, you can find compact tractors at subcompact prices. We were looking at the BX series originally, but went a couple chassis sizes bigger and am happy that we did. Tractors are like TV's it seems...get the biggest you can afford...and fit in your garage lol

I just went through my search and ended up buying used for price. But in my area the used equipment was limited, so if you go this route be ready to pull the trigger when the right deal comes along. I don't know if there is a season for trading in tractors -spring ? maybe some one can comment on that. Also you can save on some option if you can find them used or they may be with the package.

I had an advantage as my brother is a tractor owner and a retired marine engineer. So he gave me a tutorial on what to lookout for on used equipment And I have a diesel mech on my speed dial.

Another thing to consider is who will do the maintenance? I realized after my tractor was delivered my trailer is under capacity and my truck is marginal for anything but a trip direct to the dealer with a rental trailer. Lucky I'm doing my own service. But one day I will have to move it.
