Just run it. No worries about "break in". Does yours have the regen button on the dash? Newer Bransons did, older ones did not.

Yes, make sure you idle machine for a minute or two before shut off, to let turbo cool off.
I would expect that it is also getting a bit more fuel along with the turbo to make the hp.
She'd be a smokey thing without the turbo. As has been said turbos are quite reliable,
give them a minute or two to cool after being worked and good oil they work for a long time.

Turbo engine Might also include better, tougher, pistons with steel ring inserts.

I didnt really break my tractor in. It had a total of three hours on it before it was tasked with 12 hours of tilling virgin ground at a constant 2600rpm.
