New Trailer Day

I recently bought a new trailer as well. There was a option for those ramps but my concern was that they need to fold flat and it may cause a problem with the tractor, loader and implement. I had my trailer de-rated to keep me under CDL. .. Just knowing I have enough trailer under my equipment is good enough for me.. All good as long as I don't run into a over zealous DOT cop with a scale.

I have a 20' Big Tex 10-ET. I have no issues with the trailer so far. Maybe it's the dealer? Mine is a very nice handling trailer. You have to have a CDL if you go past 10K in California? Those people seem to like rules.

Actually it is a Federal law. Supposed to read if "for hire" but I guess you are right, Kalifornia does like to make laws!

I was surfing this site a couple of nights back and ran across a thread about a closeout on some good winches. Not sure if you saw it. I bought one of these for my trailer. Always wanted a winch for the trailer but was too cheap to get a decent one.

The ramps on this trailer can be pinned vertical, helpful for some setups.

Reading my mind. I have a old Superwinch, had it around for years. The trailer spare tire mount attaches with 4 5/8" bolts, and is in a perfect location for a winch mount plate.

I THINK that in Ma., you do not reach the CDL limit until you go over 26,000 lbs combined. My 14K trailer is registered in Me.

I was seriously considered that style ramp when I bought a new equipment hauler last week. But with the money I saved by buying in PA (I'm a NY resident) I was able to get a tilt bed PJ. I think I'd have been happy either way.
Good luck with the new trailer!

I have 2 trailers currently registered in Maine. New PJ equipment hauler that I bought last week has already had the paperwork sent in to make it number 3. Fortunately I have a class A CDL so I don't worry about weight & license restrictions.
