Does that mean that AEM also has a separate category for 4WD sub-40 hp tractors? That makes me wonder if 4WD sales are up or down. My impression is that most TBNers seem to be buying 4WD.This just popped up in my news feed tonight:
According to AEM, "Sales for 2WD sub-40 hp. tractors in February were down 25.6% from 2022, with 8,785 sales this year, and 11,801 last year."
You can read the report here: Combine sales up, tractor sales falling back to pre-pandemic levels in February

What airbiscuit said ^^^ is correct.I think AEM considers Mechanical Front Assist Tractors as 2wd. I think they consider articulated 4wd as 4wd for their purposes. That is just my opinion looking at their categories and numbers
That graph shows that 2023 sales to date have closely tracked the 5 year average and 2020-21 were above the average. But of course 2023 data is only for 2 months. The next few months are the high sales season and that will show the current trend.I think AEM considers Mechanical Front Assist Tractors as 2wd.
