I have had a 3515H for a little over four years. For the first year or so, my hydro pedals were stiff and wouldn't return to the neutral position about half the time. Consequently, it would not crank at all. Two or three quick pumps of the reverse pedal was all it took to get it to start. Over time, everything seems to have found its happy place and it's no longer an issue. Unlike the OP, I did not get any click when this would happen.
