Hi Stumpjumper,

Congratulations!!! Great looking tractor. I have a similar but smaller bucket on my L3800 and I agree with what the others have said for placement. I put three hooks on. Two inline with the loader arms and one centered. Thought for a while whether I needed some support for the center hook, but really do not think I have enough lift capacity to bend the center of the bucket quick attach plate. I may add some support at some point. You may want two hooks at the end of the bucket as well. My bucket is only 66" and it seemed like a waste. If you weld them right at the side plate they should be strong enough.

I had the same problem for a trailer mount and decided to add it to my pallet fork frame. It works great and visibility is not a problem at all. I will go snap a picture of it in a bit. It is pouring out and dark at the moment. Here is how I added my hooks. Trailer/ pallet fork mount to follow.

There are many online sources to pick up the weld on hooks, but here is a place fairly local that has them on the shelf. Price was good also.

Wow, you fellas have given me a lot to work with! Sean, that is a great idea for the bale spear. The trailers I am wanting to be able to move around are a flatbed 20' neck over and a heavier 20' Goose neck stock trailer along with a couple small bumper hitch trailers. Will the forks handle that? It is a heavy duty one rated at 3000lbs I think. As you guys know, it is so much easier to move trailers around the place with a tractor verses the truck. My little Yanmar that just died on me did not have a loader but I had a ball welded to the box blade. Couldn't move the neck overs but could move the bumper pulls.
One thing I should have mentioned is that while I like the three point, I would rather not have to remove the box blade to move the trailers.
I like the idea of a receiver hitch on the bucket but it just seems (haven't even hooked it up) that I could see better with the little frame of the hay spear. I figured before I get the welder out, I would get some advice.
Sean, we raise bucking cattle and that is an arena (grown up with grass) with 6ft panels. It can get a little western with some of these cattle while others can be petted.
I have used r pol raptor spray bed liner on my truck cab and have some left. It has held up really well and sounds like the ticket for the floor pan.
I haven't really put any hours on the tractor as of yet, but that is about to change. You guys can flame me but I have been putting coats of liquid glass polish on it and am going to spray fluid film on the the chassis. Really want it to last and look good down the road.
Well, thanks to each of you for taking the time to help a guy out.

My Best,

Jimmy
I've waxed my Massey several times, as a lot of others here have also. You should check out the detailing that 94Bullit did to his, or check out 4shorts tractors as well as WaxMan's.

If you can store it indoors. Tractors that sit in the elements for even a short period of time quickly start to show it.

Aren't trailer hitches available as a skid steer quick attach so you could just add it to your attachments with the bucket and spear? Marine outfit at which I was recently shopping for a boat had such a hitch on their Kubota tractor. They said it's much easier to use shuttling inventory.

Yep, at least one company makes that exact part. It's a quick change (QC) front mount combination 3pt & tow ball receiver made by Landpride which fits the the skid-steer type QC front bucket mounts. Kubota was smart enough to use the standard skid-steer bucket QC on their loaders and that opens up a world of front implements. Any FEL thing we want to rent from the bobcat dealer exactly fits the Kubota.

This front adapter is a beefy piece of steel and with it you can use any non-PTO 3pt implement or tow ball with the loader instead of the regular 3pt on the back of the tractor. We have one and hardly ever use it, but it's a real work saver when we do.

It would seem that you'd need a second person to let you know when the ball lined up with the trailer's receiver. Not a good view through the plate.

The 3PH mount on front could be clever for things like a York rake to drag debris from under trees or out of a barn. A blade would also work well.

But $1000+ is a bit of a stretch for such a convenience.
