New tractor - how many remote hydraulic valves?

I know after putting a hydraulic top link on the bobcat I had it spoiled me and now I want everything hydraulically controlled.
Yup - hydraulic cylinders are relatively cheap - $100 (or less) to $200 or so in most cases .... it's nice to be able to control something from the seat without getting off and interrupting the workflow ....

Four.

I say 2 remotes and a 3rd function. You could run hoses back from the 3rd function and use it as a remotes if needed.

Or do the reverse like I did. The 3rd function valve is a real expensive pain. I teed into one of the rear remotes and it doubles for the 3rd on the loader.:)

Sounds like you want my tractor! I have similar needs and equipment aspirations, and this spring I bought a L5740 with two rear remotes and the 3rd function on the loader. I am using my remotes for top and tilt cylinders, and the third function is ear marked for a grapple that I hope to order soon. I love the tractor and it has exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with my choice in hydraulic options too. I was on the fence about the extra cost but I am so glad I found a way to make it happen. If I did need a third rear remote in the future it could be easily added as the framework is already there to accept it. I don't anticipate having to do that though. I have a lot of options with my setup. The top and tilt has been fantastic with my box blade. It makes grading work a breeze. I went with one float detent valve and one standard return which has been a great pairing.

Your better off to get the 3rd function when you buy it new because they are a pain to put on. Did you read the instructions? I think it take almost a day to do it.

Agreed! I got my loader 3rd function new before my tractor was delivered for exactly that reason. It's the third rear remote that I did not get, and that is far less work to add later. :)

3 remotes, a 3rd function diverter (if you are getting a loader) and a power beyond loop. That way you have 2 remotes for top/tilt, 1 for anything else and down the road, you can add a valveblock with more circuits to the power beyond loop as needed.

I have dealer-installed triple remotes on my 2008 Mahindra 5525--cost $700

If you want to DIY, Surplus Center has most of the parts you'll need.

Good luck.
