Hello all. I'm new here tonight from Cleveland Tn. My wife have 197.5 acres that we acquired last May and feel we are really blessed by The Lord to have our farm. I will be planting some food plots for deer and turkey soon. The hay fields have not been very well taken care of. I have mowed them with a bush hog and trimmed the trees around the fields since last summer and feel I'm on my way now to having some good farm land. About 12 acres are in pasture and the rest is wooded along with at a major power line going through the property. Any suggestions on what I could plant on the power lines would be helpful as this in addition to the pasture land we own. Thanks again.

Welcome from Nashville. :)

Depending if the powerlines are high voltage or just to a general substation makes a difference. You don not want to plant a harvest to get a Frankenveggi bumper crop.

We once lived right up against some transmission lines at our first place. Never again. We learned our lessons.

You should be in good shape though with about 200 acres. Not all have power lines.

If it were gas lines or such, no issues.
