New to me BX25, what recommended mods/improvements to do?

If the BX25 has the (2) in series fuel filters, then you may want to consider replacing the first one with a larger aftermarket filter. This is a common mod to some bx tractors, as well as my ZD mowers.
I put a large 2 micron fuel filter on both of my ZD’s several years ago... fuel tank > 2 mic filter > electric lift pump > oem in line filter > injector pump.

Not using Tapatalk, that makes sense. Odd though.

Great photos and detail, thank you for the link. I'll have to crawl under and look. I may have to copy your D-ring concept on the bucket.

Check the radiator overflow bottle for a blocked cap that was the subject of a recall, simple fix if it is blocked.

Thank you for that.

Does Kubota have a website where the past recalls are listed?

Or even better, Tech Service Bulletins?

Thanks George I'll look into that.

Changed the engine oil and filter yesterday, as there was no maintenance history from prior owner. As all the filters were white Kubota, I assume that he did the recommended 50 hr service. It has 184 hours on it now.

Lifting the tractor up via the backhoe stabilizers and FEL makes it a very easy job for an oil change. Also pulled the engine side guards off and did a detailed 360 inspection. Mine has the factory guard plate next to the HST shaft mounted fan, so no damage to report.

A word of warning, it is easy to lift the machine up like you did to work on it, just block it up also. The problem woukd be a sudden loss of hydraulic fluid, such as a hose breaking, causing the tractor to come down on you.

I will second adding a better fuel filter. I had a lot of problems with mine plugging the cheapo factory filters. I set mine up with a Racor filter and did it without a kit. I am not the greatest fabricator so the prebuilt kit woukd have been nice.

Does the rear fuel filter get bypassed/eliminated with the Racor setup?
