White 2-65, Kubota B9200
Hi everyone, this is my first post.

Early this week I picked up a 80's ish B7100Hst with a loader, thought I got a pretty good deal and I used to run a 7100 when I was about 8 so I had to have it.:)

A few questions:

Where is the serial #? I have looked all over the clutch housing and found nothing so far. Can year be determined by engine serial number?

Is there some sort of throwout bearing for the clutch? Sometimes when I depress it I get a shudder/growling noise, other times its fine.

Does anyone have a napa part number for the hydrostatic transmission filter? would like to change it asap.

Any pointers on this particular tractor? I work around Kubota powered reefer units, and have a kubota in my skid steer, so fairly familiar with them. The tractors seem to be unstoppable.

Thanks guys.

Welcome to TBN - with all your machines you should enjoy this site.

Your 7100 HST hyd Filter is P/N HH660-36060 and Fram/Wix make similar filters P/N 51361 Wix and P/N Ph3682 Fram but the cost of a Kubota filter is not too much different I would use the OEM. Also why not change the fluids while your at it?

The S/N of the tractor should be on the left side near the clutch pedal or in that area from my exposure these units. If not there a lookup on hte engine S/N might get you a year made.

I cant help on your clutch noise but yes it does have bearing and there should be a small cover on the bell housing you can open.

Nice collection of older machines you have too - I ran a JB 420 on our PA farm for many years.

They are little tanks and mine has given fantastic service.
Two things to watch:
No water pump so look after your cooling system and check the coolant level, frequently
Older style rear wheel hubs eventually wear uneven and the advice is to replace them with the later design wheel hubs.

Had one of those little mules for 14+ years never let me down. :)
Guess we don't have to tell you about bucket full w/no power steering.

Welcome and enjoy. :)

Thanks for the encouraging posts guys. A few updates:

Still havent found the serial number. Mine has the 750AH motor, is there any way to figure out what year the motor is? It has the serial number.

So far I have done:

Replace valve stem inserts, both were leaking.
Changed oil and all filters.
Tightened rear wheel hub.
Fixed headlights.
Straightened bent hydro pedal linkage rod, smooth now. Was binding
Straightened bucket cutting edge indicator rod and guide, was mangled.
Lubed various linkages.

How much is a 1630 loader worth? I dont see it being too useful except for some small landscaping jobs that need a light tractor.

Carl_NH,

It depends who you ask on it being a "nice" collection lol. They all run and work, Some arent so nice to look at. The 420 is a great little crawler. It will be headed to the JD expo in upstate NY this year, The 420 is the feature model.:)

With your collection of machines I can understand the 1630 loader is a bit on the small side but I think the tractor + loader is worth more than the individual units.

You would need to find someone with a loaderless tractor that wants to get one - I would think under $1K for the loader alone pending the condition. If you fixed up the 7100 and loader, painted it and is a good running unit you could get a decent price for the package.

On the JD420 I was referring to the tractor not the crawler (420C) I missed that part.. We used the 420 and a 2 nottom plow until it got replaced by a 1020 in the late 60's.
