Kubota M8000 Utility Special
I've worked on a farm for several years, but my wife and I recently purchased a farm. The farm I've worked on is almost entirely powered by John Deere, but we could not afford the green color. We found a reasonably priced Kubota but don't have experience with them. We'll be learning lots!

First problem is how to change the setting on the rear lift arms so that the lever sets the depth rather than simply making them go all the way up or all the way down....

Might help to post the model of the kubota... I think a couple models are just that, either up or down.

You might also want to look around on tractordata, ebay or start a thread here, asking where one might get the owner's manual for your model.

Having the manual sure does answer a lot of questions you might have and also provide valuable insight about features, maintenance, and operations that you'd never know with that information.

I made the Kubota plunge today. I take delivery in a few days. I am hoping I don't suffer buyer's remorse. I have had a love/hate mostly hate with my Cub Cadet for 15 years. I thought it time to move on and up. I thought this forum would be a great place to learn more and gain insight.

Any one out there know where I can get a manual for a 2005 Kubota M8000 Utility Special?

Hello & WELCOME to TractorByNet.com! :)

I have moved your thread to the Kubota Owning/Operating Forum. You'll get a better response there. ;)

My Appologies, it is an M8200 Utility Special. It has about 83 hp engine and 75 hp pto. It is 4wd with 12 forward and 12 reverse with cab and loader.....

Thanks for asking...

Tractors with position control will "usually" have a lift lever with numbers and moveable stops to set at your desired heights. I say usually as I have seen them with knobs and rocker switches.

That size Kubota should be a very nice tractor, we have the later version, an M8540.

Like TripleR said your lift lever should be able keep the lower lift arms in almost any position. You may also have a Draft control on a tractor that size.

When I checked it out before buying, it seemed to work perfectly. When I put an implement on it, however, it seems that when you put the lever forward the implement goes down and keeps going down until you pull back. There is another lever on the right hand side which is for depth control to give you a higher working range or a lower working range. I've never seen a tractor where the lift arms will go right to the ground like on this one. Actually, if we can get it figured out, it is great to have such a wide range of lift....

I know on one of the John Deere tractors I use at work, you can set the lift arms so that the lift arm lever with work like I've said above, or it will hold position and go deeper as you move the lever forward. I was wondering where the setting like this would be on a Kubota.

Unfortunately we have not moved to the farm yet, so I can't just run out and play with it, but next time I get a chance, I'll play with the levers and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks for your help,
Tim

Are you possibly confusing the draft control with the position control? I am also confused now.

That is entirely possible. I'm going to stop in at a dealer.... Thanks for trying to help out.

Please report back with what you find out as I am curious. If you don't have one, you might want to pick up a manual, I keep one in the tractor and one at home.
