new tilt trailer(downeaster)

Finally bought a new trailer,The ramp scene was starting to wear on me.I got A really good price on a new downeaster 12k 18 foot tilt deck.It has a hydro damper and is quite well balanced.Came with 16 inch wheels and radials.I'm going to spend a little time this week adjusting the height of the hitch and I'll be ready to go.

4200,Which I'd be willing to bet is less than they would have to pay to get another one because of price increases.
I happen to go buy this dealers lot often and mentioned to him that the tilt bed trailer has been on his lot for a while now and would he care to fire sale it.done deal.

I think i underestimated how good a deal I got on this trailer,I stopped by a place in salisbury mass and priced out the same trailer.It came out to 5950.00 delivered,And the price increases just keep on coming.

Before I decided to order a deck over I almost went with a drop deck tilt bed 18'. The price was going to be $6500.00. So your price was a real good one. I think most quality trailers are going to be over 5K from here on out with steel prices what they are.
I too wanted out of the ramp scene but drop deck only left me with an inch to spare between fenders and some full size trucks won't go on a drop deck.

Is aluminium ramps a big thing in America ? 95% of the custom built trailers we sell, has them.
We also equip 5th wheel car transporters with pneumatic cylinders to push out the 7' drive ramps from a drawer under the trailer. Electric brakes never catched on in Europe, so also the lighter 5th wheels are equipped with air brakes and ABS/EBS, so they have compressed air onboard anyways.
