Would you feel comfortable driving over that in say a tractor (not the tank)?

The least ground compaction the better but realistically if it’s dry enough not to make ruts it’s alright.

I drive over my infiltrators with an 8,000# tractor, but keep away from the tank. If the tractor is making ruts, i stay off the yard competely.

a lot of places require a stamped engineer drawing for a new septic system, soil perc tests, excavation inspections, plumbing inspections and final inspections. Our new system cost more than my 2015 pickup truck.

Some of the new dosing systems required around lakes here in idaho can top $40k

There’s no way I’d spend $2500 to have a system “engineered” I’d take that money and overdo it by double if it would make you feel better. Locally the state office provides a sheet of the minimum requirements they deem necessary for the soil conditions and bedrooms.

If that’s an option-many counties require that the septic design be done by a licensed septic engineer (most of the more populated counties in my state require this). Some counties specify install by an approved septic installer as well-in my case, my excavator buddy is an approved installer, so he supervised me during the excavation and such and then initialed the ‘as built’ prior to the counties final inspection and buy off of the installed system.

4750, I have to agree with you. After being told that I should have it engineered, I checked out just what that meant. I learned that 'engineering' is something that is required only in very unusual or tricky installations - those where a typical installation may not be possible. Then I talked to another installer who said that engineering my system was not needed in my county. However, apparently it may be required in an adjoining county. There is always more to learn.
