First post here folks, but I have relied on much throughout this forum over the past few years, so I thought I'd give back by sharing my experience so far (and that going forward) with my new RK74.
I had wanted to purchase a larger tractor for some time, to take care of my new homestead, and researched the competition in the 70hp or so class for a few months, which includes the likes of the Kubota M7060, the JD 5 series, and the Case/NH equivalents. The RK74 was the last that I put much thought to, but it had caught my eye a a few times upon visiting several Rural King stores. Well after spending an afternoon at my local Rural King, and a night thinking it over, I determined that it was the best tractor for me in terms of pricing, value, options, capabilities, etc.
Long story short, I purchased the RK74 with the front loader, pallet forks, and a rear 84" tiller. My local Rural King made the purchase painless, a big thumbs up to Vince! Finding the tractor to be a real treat for many reasons, but very much like the cab (only wish it had a buddy seat) and the loader.
With only a handful of hours on the clock, I put it to work unloading my log cabin kit from a semi trailer. Popped the bucket off quickly using the skid steer quick attack, and connected up the pallet forks. Delivered from high in the Rockies, the small log cabin was packaged into six bundles, with the average weight being approx 2500 pounds, and the heaviest weighing approx 3000 pounds. I'll just say this, between the loaded tires and the tiller on the back, all for rear counter weight, the RK74 found the unloading to be easy peasy - no issues lifting that weight, even at near full loader height, or transporting the bundles of 6-24 foot logs up a long gravel driveway to my building site. It was very stable, had plenty of lifting power, and provided the perfect feeling of money well spent.
Overall I am quite excited about putting this tractor to work on my big acreage property - mowing (will get a new 10 foot plus rotary mower in the spring), plowing snow, taking care of a half mile driveway, and all sorts of other farm and maintenance tasks.
Thank you for letting me share, and I will certainly have more to write up as my seat time increases.
Some quick pics below for your viewing pleasure.
Good day now.
