VERY NICE Bob!

But my 425 was wanting to know why it is not green?

Bob,

Those front and back wheels are pretty far apart and it doesn't look like the front wheels steer. Is it a problem making turns?

I've been looking at the Country Manufacturing, Inc. Model 8300 Dump Wagon. I've read that it's not too sturdily built, but I have a good welder in town that could reinforce it for me. And the price is low enough to allow putting some extra money into it. How much did yours cost you?

Thanks,
Rolando

You are correct that the front wheels do not steer; however, that was probably one of the tradeoffs in getting a trailer that is street legal. As for making turns, behind the truck I don't even notice that it is attached and with the PT, if it is on the front with the tow attachment I can turn it on a dime - there will be some wheel scuffing but it works.

As for sturdy - I had it built with two - 2500 lb. axles, the hoist is capable of 5 tons and the bed and sides were fabricated with 10 ga. steel. The tail gate is also a three way gate (barn doors for dumping, spreader gate or drop gate to extend the length).

As for price, dealers wanted about $4k for a factory build unit with two 3500 lb axles but the narrowest I could find was almost 6 ft and I wanted a 54" bed and a total trailer width of 4.5 ft. so my only choice was to have it made. I paid a bit over $3k and got what I wanted.
