Those things are the berries..!! I've used mine a lot more than I thought I would. I use a piece of 3/16" X 1/2" strap as a straightedge, offset about 3/8" to cut nice straight line in sheet metal.

I got the circle cutting guide too. Anything from cutting flanges to go around my chimney pipes in the shop, to plugs for various pipes. I made a longer rod, so as to cut a new bottom for the hay manger in my horsetrailer.

Sooo sweet...!!

I purchased the PowerPlasma 60 last year and I talked to Mark before I purchased. He was always very helpful and gave me much information regarding the unit.
My unit came with a different torch though, mine is black (I think mine is a panasonic) but none the less works fantastic. As some of the guys have mentioned here clean DRY air is key to make this thing work perfect. I do not use it every day as I am just a hobbyist but heck the unit works and I am happy with it.
Enjoy the unit and thanks for sharing the pics!

Alex,
The 60 torch has been upgraded some since you bought. Its all in a self enclosed body. The head is the same, but now the switch is built into the handle. For me its a mixed blessing. Its more like people expect, and is nicer but it does loose the "freedom" to position the switch top or bottom. The PowerPlasma 60 have has a high frequency start.

The smaller PowerPlasma 50 has a blow back start and different torch as well, similar in start style as Miller and Hypertherm products. In fact the PowerPlasma 50 uses the same torch design as Hobart does now. High Frequency is a good start method unless you need it for CNC use because of the interference it can cause with electronic items. But even with moderate shielding we have a lot of customers using our larger units with CNC with satisfactory results.

No doubt some will say a Miller or Hypertherm is better...with cleaner cut and better performance, but then again, they haven't tried one of ours either. The differences in performance are really very marginal, and in ordinary, every day cutting, not noticeable at all. The differences come in at the upper end at the severance cut, you may find a 1/16 of an inch difference and a little more slag...but not always either. The latest editions of these units really do cut beyond our fairly conservative ratings.

What kind of air filtering are you using.

This is what I am using, a Motor Guard filter with a filter regulator, and the desiccant pellets air filter from HF.

Desiccant Air Dryer - Air Accessories - Air Tools

I have a refridgerated unit that was being thrown away given to me.

And there's a picture of the back of the unit with the in-line filter that comes with the PP60 and the regulator that I added. This was taken before I swapped the fittings for the clear air line with 90 degree offset ones. You can see how the hose could get caught by something.

Yeh plasma cutters are great. mine is only a 40A but with that it allows fine cutting up to about ~3/8 and severing to about 1/2 to 5/8. I have rarely cut anything more than 1/4in. If I need to go thick then I use my O/A. Nice machine though and wouldn't mind having one like it.
