Hi everyone,
I just wanted to stop in & say hello. I've been on this site lurking, sucking up information. I just bought a YM2210D w/fel & 5' bush hog. It's from a private party, who bought it from LMTC. I'll be picking it up in Va. in a couple of weeks, and am very excited to get it back here. I've got five acres of unruly brush that needs cutting, not to mention all the other usual chores.....snow removal, grading, etc.

I've been wanting a Yanmar for a loooong time:licking: I was wanting to hear from some other 2210 owners to shoot the breeze about different characteristics of the machine. What do people like and/or dislike about 'em? I've heard these machines are some of the most reliable Yanmar ever made.....what about that?
I'd be real happy to hear some thoughts..........

I researched for quite a while, sure glad I did. Some of those Vietnam recons were looking good. What I read here got me looking past those things, and into a machine that came straight from Japan, and has a U.S. made loader on her. I'm happy to be on here with some folks that know Yanmars, and like to share what they know.
Thanks,
Steve

Basicly a Glorified YM2000 A little more power 26 Hp. 2Cyl wth a Powershift Trans. Not alot of that model around but noticed Fredricks has about 7 on the way in. They should be a parts source if needed.

Have a 2210BD rebuilt here and it is a work horse. I need to start a thread about a VN recon but I have not had the time to . I have had no real problems with my tractor as I suspect will be your experience with a LMTC unit. For me it is just the right size. I do wish they had a live pto and power steering but if that is all the fault i can find then I would most likely complain about being hung with a new rope.

Ninefinger, how do you deal with no P.S in a 3,000 lb (w/loader) machine?

What about noise? A friend of mine has a 2210.....what a racket!! Ear protection? ;)

If you point the muffler toward the front of the tractor noise is reduced a great deal. California and a few others have done this. I ran mine that way for a time but went back vertical because of the staining it was doing to the FEL. Had to take the flapper off to clear the FEL. As for the PS, I am just getting very close to being an old man. While the tractor is moving there is really not that much of a problem, just dead still with a loaded bucket is a chore. Spinner knob on the steering wheel is a big plus, just always be aware of where your hands are because if your front tire hits a rut and spins wildly and your hand is in the way, well that is when the drunken sailor language comes into play.

Ah yes, the old "suicide knob".
