I know it's been a year since this post....but I'll take a shot. I'm looking at the same mower, x500, and wondering about your thoughts on it after a year of use. Good and bad. Thanks.

Helped a widow friend of ours buy a new 2015 JD X530 with 54 inch deck with front brush guard. Price was $6,000 out the door.Needless to say she loves it..

I know this thread is really old but hoping I can get an answer... Did the brush guard you have on the front come green or did you have it painted green? I can only find the brush guard in black.
