Hi everyone and greetings from what's called the Cumberland Plateue in TN. I have 4 acres of beatiful hillside terrian and finally broke down and brought a tractor. I finally convinced the wife that this 54 year old does not have the body I once had and needed some help. Now this will make everyone cringe but what I brought was a 2007 Kubota B26TLB. All good so far but here it comes. It has 2700 hours on it and was rode hard and put away wet. The owner was a landscaper who never did anything maintainence wise (almost nothing) and abused the **** out of it. But at $10,000 it fit the price range I could handle and I am very mechanically inclined. The positive is that the engine has no leaks, starts right up snd no smoke. The pump seems strong and everyting mechanically works (sort of, at least the major stuff).
I have already replaced all fluids, gas and air filter and completly lubed all places. I have ordered new front tires and front chains (it snowplows in the ice and snow). The guy never had the backhoe off but I can see the 3 point stuff is still there. I have frabricated the boom lock handle and using a hitch pin for the boom sway lock.
Things I need to work on: making sure the differential lock (pedal) actually engages. In the snow I do not feel it is locking the wheels. It is way to easy to push down so I am hoping it is linkage. Adjusting the parking brake (no big deal there). All of the lights have been crushed or not working. I have purchased LED lights and will install them on there own toggles. (I do not see any reason to try and restore factory wiring) There is a lot of play in the steering. It looks like the tie rod ends have been replaced at some point so I still do not know why there is so much play. I need to figure out how to fabricate the loader level indicator. I only have the part on the rt main arm left.
Thats it! Everybody can chime in with helpful advice, including that I should have run away from this thing when I had the chance!
