Hi I am from Australia,

I currently own 2 yanmar tractors

Ke20 t with fel and ym 169

I have been having problems with the starter motor so I took it to an auto electrictian and they checked it and told me that it was fried, so I told them ill come in and pick up the starter and when I went to collect it they had thrown it out!!!!!

So I need help with getting the correct starter motor for my ym 169 tractor?

the model is- 3T72HA-A
engine no- C6632

If anyone out there has a YM 169 can they please check for any numbers on the starter so I can match the correct one?

Welcome, I would go back and give them two options. 1. Produce my old starter so I can possibly have it rebuilt. 2. Produce one just like it.

What kind of shop throws a customers starter out?? Especially a rebuildable and commonly rebuilt part like a starter? Also they have scrap value and almost no shop throws them out. I but its laying around somewhere.

WHat if you called back a day later and told them to rubuild it or you were going to have it rebuilt when you got it from them?

I always demand that any shop retain any and all used parts.
I want to see the evidence and also I am plain interested in anything mechanical.

Welcome........your auto electrician seems to be a crook. I bet you could buy a rebuilt starter from them......probably your own????

I'll second that.....just because it was fried doesn't mean they have to right to throw away personal property that didn't belong to them. They are liable for that property, functioning or not. I somewhat agree with the two choices....produce the one you brought in or produce a new one. PERIOD.
