Ford 3000
Howdy from Texas and longtime lurker here. Recently bought a 196? Ford 3000 diesel. I have the owners manual and shop manual. It is my first tractor and so far I have enjoyed shredding and box blading with it. The other day it began to lose power on me until it died, but then fired right up and ran for a while until it did the same thing. From researching here, I believe there may be some gunk in the tank blocking the shut off valve filter screen. So, as soon as possible I am going to drain the fuel tank and try to clean it out. I also grabbed 2 new fuel filters this morning. Anyway, I really like the tractor and don't mind turning a few wrenches.

Just wanted to say hi.

Welcome to TBN.

I suggest you apply the K.I.S.S. principle. Keep It Simple Stupid. I agree start with the tank screen and go from there. Diesels thrive on two things. Clean oil. Clean fuel. They whither on the lack of either. Post some pics of your tractor when ya can. We love pics. :)
