New machine

/ New machine #41
I picked up the 4500Z with Kubota Gasoline Engine (32.5 hp) the first week of April. Just about 110 hours on it as of today. I have previously had several other Ventracs and Steiners as well as JD compact tractors and garden tractors.

We don't get enough snow for me to invest another 3500.00 in a cab

There is a much less expensive way to keep blowing snow out of your face even though it does not include a heater--a simple $100 golf cart cover draped over the top of a canopy. I first learned this from another TBNer several years ago and have used it ever since. I have forgotten who he was, but it was a great idea. I have suggested this to several other Steiner and Ventrac owners, and they love it too.

So where does one get a canopy?

The Mrs just found it for me. Where does one get the cart top?

Forgot to mention that the canopy I current use is a Tuff Top. It is easy to remove and install and is practically indestructible. Cost was about $300 when I got it 5 years ago.

Hello murph, i to have been using my ventrac4500Y for snow removal. I bought a jd 380 power angle snow plow i found on craigslist and modified it for my ventrac. Works awesome! much heavier built than the ventrac plow and way cheaper. Two weeks ago i found used steiner 430 cab on craigslist for 750.00 excellent shape . Took me some time to modify it to fit but actually fits really good now. So much nicer being out of the weather and having a wiper! I turn the switch on the oil cooler to reverse the fan and it works well enough that i dont need to wear my gloves. The machine pushes like a little dozer, well satisfied with the machine.Good luck with the cab,I will try to get some pics on of my cab and blade. Have a good Day

Definitely love to see pics! I'm surprised th steiner can cleared the ventrac Rops bar...also like pics of the plow...I have the 5 ft ventrac plow it seems very light duty but I haven't hurt it yet.the cutting edge it comes with is a joke,I'm going to put a real edge on it when this one wears out
