How many? I don't know, but my dealer said he'd done 5 or 6 before mine (I can't remember the exact number he told me). I've also answered several different threads asking about the same issue. Nobody, including myself, would ever think that the pedal returning to a neutral position could require replacing the transmission, but that's exactly what my dealer did after taking several pressure readings and it fixed the problem.

Here's an example. BTW, there's a lot more of them in the Bobcat forums
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/bobcat-tractors/169783-lazy-hydro-pedal.html

No this is not my first tractor and no it is not my first HST tractor. I'm not sure why you would think that people start out with Kioti, do they eventually graduate to something else? I'd say the opposite, my first tractor was JD, I looked at Kioti but was a little shy about an off brand. After learning more about tractors I realized Kioti is built like a brick house and isn't an off brand. I'd say your statement is a bit of a slight against Kioti owners, something I'd expect from the owner of another orange tractor.

The question was asked and I'm not sure why you get the final judgement on what posts are misinformed or much ado about almost nothing. I was trying to keep my first post short for everybodies sake, and providing numbers and statistics on HST failures wasn't something I had time to research. The OP can use the search function of TBN as well as I can, so I didn't provide links to other threads about HST (plenty to chose from if you want to try the search function), I simply provided my experience. I'm sorry if that has no value, but I thought it was what the OP was asking.

Ken, I am wondering if the adjustment of the hystat was off from the factory. I know in the case of the Sundstrand units if the servo cups were not adjusted correctly it will not consistantly find neutral. This also is not a field adjustable fix for most techs. So this is a guess that replacement was a good option for the OEM. Thanks for your info. I am really curious to see how all of this is set up, hopefully this weekend. CJ

Nice looking unit! Mine should be here this week. Give a report on the backhoe. I can't decide between the woods or Kioti brand. CJ

Is it the DK50 in your profile that you're waiting on? That's plenty of tractor to make me more than a little jealous! What did you decide about the Woods BH? I disagree about the warranty warning from another poster and there was a long thread discussing it a few months back. I think my Groundbreaker BH-70x is a beast and I really like the thumb and mount it came with.

Interesting about the servo cups, although, that's all a little Greek to me. My dealer told me they know nothing about the issue because Kioti won't let them take one apart. They also said they now have a bunch of HST's lying around since Kioti never does actually takes them back, they just send the new one so they've been toying with the idea of cracking it open anyway. I'll have to ask if they've found anything out. Personally, I'm very happy they just sent a new unit instead of having my dealer fix it. My dealer also told me that Kioti has told them they'll be changing the CK line to a two pedal design like the DK line.

Thanx Mike, I heard about the HST thing before I bought. It seems very rare and my dealer said he had one it was a vibration problem. He will take my tractor back if I am not satisfied. So you can't beat that. The machine is a beast.:)

You're in like Flynn, now get to work!

Yes thats the one!! Expected delivery today so were getting close. To be 100% honest there is not too many hydraulic shops that are capable of actually rebuilding, adjusting and setting hydrostats correctly. The servos control the swashplate for direction and speed but without a breakdown on these units or a manufacturer I am guessing on these units. You can bet when I get mine and the service manual I will know more about them. Most of the units I work on are 100+ GPM and 5000psi relief setting. Putting together ###'s on a 270GPM unit at 6900PSI. This one is interesting!! The woods 90x is the one I am looking at but I will see what MIE also recommends. I don't want to bug my dealer so I have been leaving him alone but I feel like a kid in a candy store waiting. CJ

I can only imagine how you're feeling right now! I just got in trouble when they brought my tractor back with the new cab, my wife was pissed because I never get that excited about anything else.

The Woods mount is much beefier than the Kioti mount and it's much nicer to not have to store the sub frame along with the bh if you take it off (mines off for the winter for snow removal and if I need the box blade in the summer). You can also get a thumb for the Woods and not for the Kioti. I think the Woods also tucks in a little closer to the back of the tractor as well. I'm more than happy with my choice.

Congratulations and good luck keeping your sanity while you wait! Lots of pics when you get it!!!

I have the Woods BH90x with mechanical thumb on my DK40se. Excellent BH. As I recall it is a bit bigger and higher specs than the Kioti. I had a Kioti BH2365 on my CK20 and was very happy with it too. Agree with KiotiKen that mounting the Woods does not invalidate the Kioti warranty. It just means there may be some haggling to figure out which manufacturer or dealer would pay for a particular repair.

I see benefits for both the Kioti subframe and the Woods 4pt mount. The Kioti is faster and less fussy to mount but does take up a lot more storage space.

I'm not a fan of the Woods mechanical thumb as it gets in the way and you must dismount to adjust it. A hydraulic thumb would be the way to go. Much cheaper to buy the mechanical version and convert it yourself although it may be hard to find the Woods toe controller. One of these days I'll get around to converting mine but as I always have either a grapple or 4n1 mounted on the front, a thumb is not so critical.

Sorry, I should have been more clear, at least when I was buying a year ago, you couldn't get a factory thumb from Kioti and I think it is still that way. I've seen the one from Michigan Iron and a few others, I was just talking about a factory option.
